As part of the MTO process an admin can set up a Notice of Impending Conviction (NIC) letter that can be sent to users who have outstanding violations that will be collected through Ontatio courts.
To configure this letter go to System Messaging and edit the Notice Letter found in the Messages tab.
On this page you can edit the content and templates for the NIC (Notice of Impending Conviction) letters for various languages or create them if they don't already exist:
When editing the NIC letter content some basic knowledge of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) can be very beneficial as the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor isn't meant for templates and can cause problem when trying to edit through the interface and have the final printed page template lineup correctly. Minor changes can be made with the editor, but HTML is recommended for most changes if possible.
You can edit the HTML in the editor by selecting Tools → Source Code.
Short Codes:
Notice Letters use "short codes", which are referenced along the bottom of the edit content page:
How do they work?
These short codes will automatically be replaced with the details/content of the user/vehicle when the notice letter is being generated.
For example if the content of the NIC letter stated:
"Vehicle: [values show=vehicle.plate]"
This would be automatically replaced with the vehicle plate when the NIC letter is generated, resulting in something like:
"Vehicle: ABC123"
How do I use them?
The short code can be inserted into the content by simply copy and pasting the short code you wish to add into the content. From the short code list (highlight short code name → Right click -> Copy) and then left click into the desired area in the content you want the short code to appear, then on your keyboard select "Ctrl + V" which will paste the short code into the content (right click → paste doesn't work in the editor for some browsers).
