Creating a new Sales Window
To create a new Sales Window click NEW
The Create New Sales Window window appears. Enter the information for the new sales window.
In this example, we are creating a yearly permit sales window with the following information:
- Sale Start Sale Date of December 28th, 2019 (When the permits will be available to purchase)
- Active Start Date of January 1st, 2020 (What date the permit becomes valid)
- Sale/Active end date of December 31st, 2020 (What date the permit expires)
Sale Start Date | Active Start Date | Sale / Active End Date |
---|---|---|
The day that the permits are on sale and users can begin to purchase permits in the lots that use this sales window. | The day the permits become valid (UsableUseable, Scannable, Swipeable, LPR/Handheld Reads, etc.). This allows you to sell your permits in the the Sale Start Date field but not allow them to be valid until a certain date. | The official end date that permits can be sold until, or can be active for, in this sales window. Remember Active differs from Sale. |
Click Create Sales Window to save your information. It will now appear in the list of possible Sales Windows.
In the monthly sales window example below:
Permits with this Active Sales window can be purchased any time between Nov 16, 2019 and Dec 31 2019. These permits would be valid from December 1st 2019 to December 31st 2019.
Activating the Sales Window
Once the sales window has been configured it needs to be made active. To do so, click on Active Sales Window to view the list of current and future sales windows.
The list of sales windows appears. Notice the new sales window we created is now in the list but not yet activated.
Select the radio button adjacent to the sales window you wish to activate and click on Update Current Sales Window.
When to Activate a Sales Window

A sales window can be activated well in advance of even it's set start date. For example, once the initial sales for a yearly sales period dies down, an admin can set up and activate the following year's sales window. It will only come into affect effect once the Sale Start Date is reached. Additionally, permits bought in the sales window will only become valid as of the Active Start Date. |

Refresh VehcielPermits data: https://<clientID>.parkadmin.com/api/tasks/resyncVehiclePermits.php VehiclePermits table is the data that is sent to the handhelds based on sales window date ranges. The above web URL forces a VehcilePermit refresh for all data that would be pushed to the HH's. This will be automated shortly as this should not be necessary to update manually (ie. on update the above URL will be called in the background).
Looking to extend a sales window with active permits? For example client accidentally set the Active End Date to July 30 and meant to set it to Aug 30. This is easy enough to do as a Tomahawk admin (currently only we can edit the active sales windows with permits tied to them, Paul told me, justin this is to maintain data integrity). To do this edit the sales window, and just update the end date, then you may or may not need to ensure the sales window is active (could be inactive). Once done check the vehicle permits table and you should see the new permits and expiry times, this triggers a rebuild of the vehiclepermits table data. |
