System alarms and related automation configuration options are defined in this area.

Setting up Alarms in OPS-COM

please refer to the following article Guide to System Settings to see how we can set up Generic, People, and Plate Alarms. We can get to the alarm settings by going to System Settings → Alarms

How to Use Plate Alarms

Plate alarms are triggered when a plate in the system has an alarm attached to it. This alarm will be triggered by Fixed Cameras (Entrance and Exit Cameras), Handheld Violation Entry by Officers, and LPR Camera Reads. Not only is there an alarm that is triggered but you can also provide an email to send the alarm details to. If a fixed camera was used then the name of that camera will be listed on the Plate Alarm. Keep in mind that manually Chalking Vehicles does not trigger the alert.

Attaching an Alarm to a Plate without a Profile

Setting up the Proper Settings

First we will need to get to Manage Administration Roles and select the role for the user we wish to allow plate alarms.

From here we can go into the Role we wish to manage and under the Dispatch. Toggling specific settings will trigger that permission for the role.

Finding the Plate

If there is a plate in the system that does not have an associated profile, we can perform a search on the PLATE by going into Violations → Vehicles → Search by Plate

Enter the plate we wish to search and then click on the Vehicle Info, in this example I have added a plate with no profile LKD892.

This will bring up a new window that will allow us to edit the vehicle by clicking the Edit Vehicle link. Click this to edit the Vehicle Information.

Adding the Vehicle Alarm

Step 1: Toggle the Vehicle Alarm, you will know this is working as you will see a checkmark in the box.

Step 2: Once you click this you will have an option to add the Alarm Comment which will be seen by officers and admins.

Step 3: Click Update Vehicle to have the vehicle alarm applied correctly.

Now when this plate gets LPR scanned by mobile or fixed cameras you ding sound is made so offices in cars will notice it and can write a dispatch report before moving on.

Attaching an Alarm to a specific User's Vehicle

If you know the user you wish to add the plate alarm to, we can do this by going into this users profile from the admin side and clicking Vehicles

Once there you should see a list of vehicles and the plate associated to them. Click the plate to get to the Vehicle Information

See Adding the Vehicle Alarm under Attaching an Alarm to a Plate without a Profile for instructions on adding the actual alarm.

How to Use Profile Vehicle Alarms

We can also add an alarm to the users profile as well as the users plates. We can do this by going to the users profile and clicking Edit

Once you are in the user's profile you should see Plate alarm and People alarm to the right

We will need to toggle the alarms we wish to add to the users profile, only the Licence Plate Alarm will offer a comment section.. these comments are seen at the top of the users profile where you clicked in the Edit. (See the image above where we showed you how to edit the users profile)

How to Use People Alarms

People alarms are added the same way as the profile License Plate Alarms except they are only triggered for things like AccessCards, Gates, etc.. and there are no comments necessary for People Alarms.
