How does it work?
To begin let's find the user who is purchasing the permit and go to their profile.

Proration is a permission that can be given to an admin user. It allows them to sell a permit to a user that is valid for a shorter portion of the active sales window and have the system adjust the cost of the permit accordingly. A good example is a student parker starting to park a vehicle halfway through a year or semester. |

In this case we will apply the permission to the role of Parking Manager Admin.
- Click on Permissions to the right of Parking Manager Admin.
- The Editing Permissions window will open.
- Go into the Parking Tab. (third tab)
- Click on the permission labeled Prorate Permit Purchases.
- Click on Save Permissions to apply the permission for this admin user.
Once the permission is applied any admin with this role can sell permits with proration applied.

Configuration/Setup
In Lot Admin and Pricing go into the lot you wish to setup for Proration.
On the Standard permit tab select This lot can be prorated.
This lot is now set for proration.
Using Proration for Permits
Search for a user and bring up their profile. In our example we are looking for the user sjamiesonuser mashbury.
Click on the username to access their profile.
Once in the user profile click on the Parking menu item Parking tab to begin the proces process of buying a permit.
In The Parking Permit Registration click screen displays. Click on Standard Parking Permit to begin the purchase.
Next choose for the lot you wish the user to park in and click Register Permit.

Note the full price for this prmit is $130.00.
The Confirm Parking Permit Registration displays the full year deatils with a start date of January 1st at a cost of $593.25 per year.
By editing the date field, in this case our parker will begin using the permit on April 1st.
Notice the date change in the Permit Start Date field as well as the Total Owing is now prorated and adjusted to $446.97 from $593.25.
To complete the process click on Purchase this Permit.
This will take you to the Payments Due window where you can complete the purchase. Note the adjusted protrated amount appears here.
Click Proceed to Payment to complete the transaction.

- First choose the permit number you wish to associate with the user.
- Secondly select the start date for the permit to be valid
- Once the the permit number and start date are selected you will notice the cost is adjusted accordingly and the label *prorated is applied. In this case the cost is reduced to $69.33 from $100.00
Click on Purchase this Permit to continue.

The resulting cost of the permit will show in the user's profile both on the Admin Portal as well as the User's Portal.
